Over the years we’ve helped 40-50 companies go public. Rocket Fuel, a technology company that provides artificial-intelligence driven digital advertising solutions, appointed us to help them build awareness across Europe whilst simultaneously supporting their IPO. We swung into action with our tried and tested approach to get them the result they were looking for.
It’s a common misconception that PR has to stop in the run up to and during an IPO. For Rocket Fuel, a company that was rapidly expanding and opening up new markets across Europe, it viewed PR as essential to helping quickly establish the business in each country (including the UK). It didn’t want to jeopardise local success whilst going through its IPO.
We liaised and coordinated closely with the US team to ensure we were aware of any movement in key filing dates, quiet periods and dark periods. And created a programme which could not be construed as influencing potential investors or listing price. We focused outreach on ‘business as usual’ news announcements and an education programme enabling us to raise Rocket Fuel’s profile and educate media influencers about the brand throughout the IPO process.
We established Rocket Fuel as the number one share of voice (43%) versus its competitive set (nearest competitor 29%) in the six month period during which Rocket Fuel successfully listed on Nasdaq (excluding coverage of the IPO itself).
